Oak Grove Golf Club Results

The 4th tournament  of the Farmers Bank & Trust Junior Golf Tour was played Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Oak Grove Golf Club in New Boston, Texas.  Twenty-six junior golfers from throughout the area competed.

David Mayo, from Texarkana, took home first place in the Boys 15+ division with a 39. Charlie King, of Texarkana, defeated Gavin Escamilla in a scorecard playoff in the Boys 13-14 division.  In the Boys 11-12 age group, Alex Hammonds led the field with a 37 and John Henry Meisenheimer earned runner-up honors with a 39. Sawyer Hopkins won the Boys 9-10 division with a 52, while Davis Early earned runner-up with a 55.  Micah Glick won the Coed 8 & Under division with a 42, and Buck Hawkins received runner-up with a 45.

In the Girls 15+ division, Adyson Mayo took home first with a 55, while Lila Simpson won the Girls 13-14 division.  Sophia Gavriel won the Girls 11-12 division with a 48, and Gabi Nevels earned runner-up honors with a 52.  Rounding out the Girls 9-10 division was Nora McCarley earning top billing with a 46, and Molly Phillips placing second with a 54.

The Farmers Bank & Trust Junior Golf Tour is a series of five golf tournaments held in the Spring and Summer for junior golfers.  Anyone age 19 and under, who has not yet attended college, is eligible to compete.  Overall winners in each age division will be eligible to play in the recently announced APT/WAPT Junior Pro-Am this summer.  The next tournament will be held May 15th  at Northridge Country Club in Texarkana, Texas.
